March 7, 2005 -- Must be spring fever. Bikinis and beaches are popping up all over magazine covers, just when the rest of us are ready to shed our winter blahs.
Conde Nast Traveler is chock full of stories about places you'll want to visit - whether it's the new Rome, filled with chic boutique hotels and spiffy restaurants, or the breathtaking views of Big Sur, Calif. The real standout is a feature on Nicaragua. The country has come a long way from the Somoza dictatorship, the Sandinista revolution and the Iran-Contra scandal, and is now a budding tourist destination in Central America. A stay at the Morgan's Rock hotel, nestled in the mountains, alone seems worth the trip, not to mention a multitude of activi ties that including surfing, scaling a volcano, a canopy tour and horseback riding on the beach. When do we leave?
