PACIFIC COAST, Southern Nicaragua, May 18, 2004— Kayak estuaries
at sunrise and sunset, watch baby sea turtles hatch along the beach,
look down into the crater of an active volcano and explore the handicraft
markets in the colonial town of Masaya. Enjoy the wildlife rich forests
and sandy beaches of Morgan’s Rock Hacienda and Ecolodge a
private and secluded ecological haven located on the pacific coast
in southern Nicaragua. This intriguing new hotel serves as the base
for adventures into Nicaragua—a fascinating and up and coming
destination for visitors in search of an authentic and unique travel
experience.
Morgan’s Rock Hacienda and Ecolodge, opening this July, offers
a natural haven for the true traveler. A spectacular beach and forest
environment surrounds the Hacienda, which was inspired by Lapa Rios
Ecolodge in Peninsula De Osa, Costa Rica. The hotel was designed
for guests in search of a touch of luxury while enjoying the adventure
and excitement of an exotic and tropical destination. A stay at the
ecolodge offers visitors a unique vacation experience combining ecotourism
and agrotourism. The retreat also serves as the base for adventures
into Nicaragua—a landscape filled with an abundance of lakes,
rivers, colonial cities, untouched forests, sandy beaches and some
of the greatest concentration of volcanoes and inland bodies of water
in the world.
Morgan’s Rock offers day tours, which explore lakes, active
volcanoes, national parks, the colonial city of Granada, Lake Nicaragua
with its “Isletas”, handicraft markets and much more.
These multi-faceted explorations and activities allow for cultural
interactions, scenic beauty and nature viewing at its finest. The
Hacienda is also home to one of Latin America's finest agro-tourism
operations and guests here will have the opportunity to take tours
to learn about reforestation, tree farming, sustainable agriculture
and traditional farming techniques.
Morgan’s Rock Hacienda and Ecolodge accommodations include
fifteen private west facing bungalows, which open to spectacular
views of the ocean and surrounding forest. Most bungalows sit on
a cliff overlooking the private bay and estuary and all feature one-king
size bed, a comfortable sofa bed, hammocks, an open-air shower and
a private deck. The architect used mainly local materials and the
wooden furniture was custom crafted by local artisans.
Morgan's Rock provides the ideal extension to a Costa Rican vacation.
The ecolodge is easily reached by air or ground transport and is
located within easy driving from southern Nicaragua's most prominent
tourist attractions, the colonial city of Granada, and just north
of the Costa Rican boarder.
A stay at Morgan’s Rock Hacienda and Ecolodge
offers quality accommodations, local gourmet delights and an exciting
array of adventures. For more information about Morgan’s
Rock Hacienda and Ecolodge and their offerings or to make reservations
