We took a self-guided walking tour, which was great, well-marked and the guidebook was perfect. Kids really enjoy it!! It’s impossible not to relax here. The bungalows are magical. In only a handful of places around the world could you hear monkeys howling out your window over the sound of the surf. Our kids loved this place. They are 10, 6 & 5 and we will have a hard time taking them anywhere they like more! !

We felt immersed in the mission, especially the opportunities to understand Nicaraguan life a little more! Excellent comfort!. In terms of sustainability of environment, economy and people, it would be good to talk about the ways MR works to benefit the workers and local population. They clearly work hard and hopefully are stronger people because they work here. Tell the story!!

We have traveled to over 50 countries and this is the best hotel experience we¨had. Surprisingly good condition considering outdoor nature of the facility. Your hotel and staff provided the flexibility we had hoped for. Preparing fruit for us to take to our room the night before our very early a.m. hike so we had something to eat in the morning. Custom tailoring our hike tour experience to meet our needs. Extending meal/lunch restaurant hours for us. Delivering our drinks to our room- they offered- we did not even have to ask.

“Unforgettable”
I have never stayed in such a beautiful lodge .. you can see how beautiful the lodge is by looking at the photo's on this site. High up beside the branches of the trees, it was easy to imagine you might be one of the monkeys which swing from branch to branch. Below you can see the sand and sea and it's absolutely beautiful.
Apart from the wonderful view, the lodge we stayed in was designed brilliantly. It was spotlessly clean and lots of room to lounge around if we got tired of exploring the grounds and sea. The shower was brilliant because in the night, very tiny red crabs would decide to come up through the drainage hole in the floor. If you go to Morgans Rock expecting not to see wildlife 'up close' then it's not for you but that was an aspect I especially loved about it.
The staff were efficient, helpful and friendly. The food was very good with an excellent choice. I've been at home a couple of weeks now and I keep thinking about how lovely it was there. It can be a bit windy sometimes so you need to take a cardigan or light jumper for the evening. I'd return tomorrow if I didn't have to work!!

“Spectacular” It's all true -- yes, it's very expensive and yes, it's spectacular. Why is it so expensive? There are only 15 bungalows so you are paying for absolute privacy. The beach is beyond compare -- you could be in any remote corner of the world. The ratio of staff to guest is at least 3 to 1 -- and I did wonder why there were so many guards stationed around the property. Things to note: the road -- 8 kms from the main road -- took 45 minutes in a standard car. The cabins high on the hill (#s 13,14,15) are a good 300 steps up from the beach. It is quite a hike. You will not be going back to your room because you forgot your sunscreen. The pool area is lovely but small. There is room for 5-7 people comfortably in lounge chairs. The water in the pool and the whirlpool is not heated! Bracing -- but not for everyone. The lanais on the beach are terrific -- private and unique. Even the bathroom on the beach was adorable. The property is beautifully maintained. The food was terrific and the staff were attentive but in the background. The coffee delivered to the cabin is a lovely touch -- but unfortunately it was cold by the time it hiked up 300 steps. The unique furnishings, bathroom, rain shower and swinging bed on the terrace were wonderful. So, why is it so expensive? It does seem out of kilter with prices in Nicaragua. Prices do not include liquor and tips are also "suggested". This seemed over the top as the staff should have been well compensated at these prices. However, we loved the place and would go back. It is magical. Check out the spectacular stars from the middle of the suspension bridge on your hike back to your cabin at night. Bugs and creepy-crawlies were not an issue.

“Outstanding” We booked for 3 days and ended up staying for 5 as we could'nt bear to leave the place. Truely outstanding location, architecture and atmosphere, it is without doubt the best resort we have visited. We tried the walking tour, breakfast on the farm, horse riding, kayaking and lots of relaxing on the superb beach. The only thing we could fault was the horse riding as it was a little shorter than expected. The excellent food is cooked by the local staff with produce from the resort, and was among the best eaten on our trip.
Highly, highly recommended, and very good value.

We had the most amazing honeymoon one could ask for. Everything was perfect. I especially want to thank the staff for their careful attention to my gluten-free needs. They were very attentive and there wasn't a mistake once. For that we are both so greatful. We would recommend Morgan's Rock to anyone looking for a peaceful, serene getaway. There was nothing bad about this place. We will be back!!

My wife Debbie and I had an amazing stay! We want to thank all the wonderful staff members who in very special ways made the long journey so worth while.
The easy going pace allowed me in particular to wind down-forget about work stress and just totally decompress! Truly a paradise-from location to service 5 stars! Our special thanks to Vanessa, Karen, Melvin, Martin, Reddy, Eduardo whose special people skills helped warm our everyday @ MR. We will be back to see the sea turtles and happy to recommend MR to all our friends.

Love the new Web site! My husband and I traveled to Morgan's Rock in July 2008 and had an unforgettable experience! The food, bungalows and tours were all top-notch - but what actually made the trip a one-of-a-kind experience was the amazing staff. Words can not describe what a great job they did meeting our every need! We still mention staff members by name and wonder how they are doing! Hopefully we will get to see them down the road when we visit Morgan's Rock again!

My fiance and I stayed at Morgan's Rock for a week during December 2008. This place is truly amazing and one of a kind. "Every room" has an incredible ocean view with only a piece of screen separating your bed from the sound of the crashing waves. Here was our schedule at Morgan's Rock. Wake up to coffee service at your doorstep. Drink while enjoying the views from your giant deck. After breakfast, ask for a cooler packed full of local beer and bottled water. Spend the morning/afternoon in your own personal cabana on the beach drinking cold beer, swimming, walking on the beach, swinging in the hammock. Then, delicious lunch and dip in the infinity edge pool and back down to the beach. Dinner was always some amazing fresh fish and then for drinks at the intimate bar. Couldn't get more relaxing than that. Only problem with Morgan's Rock is that it was so romantic we are having a hard time planning somewhere better for our honeymoon.

This is how we hope we are living everyday-trying to be responsible and appreciative citizen of the world- and one way to do that is travel, seeing other parts of the world, interacting with people where they live, learning something about their history . We feel very privileged that we are able to travel and encourage everyone in our family to do it!

We applaud. The success of your mission and the teaching you provide for tourists who are new to sustainability. We have been supportive of your mission even before we arrived because of our knowledge of MR, but now we are even bigger fans! We had a wonderfull time exploring nature and knowing we are in a safe enviroment. Thank you so much
