Morgan's Rock is practicing Responsible Ecotourism by:
Protecting endangered primary forest wilderness. The bird population at Morgan’s Rock is typical of tropical dry forest lands, similar to that found in the Guanacaste province of Costa Rica. There is also a maritime influence which is strengthened by a fine salt water estuary on the property. The bird population is enhanced by Morgan’s Rock’s five-year status as a private nature reserve. The birds listed in the PDF file are ones which might well be encountered on the property. They are classified as Seen, Probable or Possible. "Seen" means the bird has been seen on the property by an experienced observer.
Since a large part of the farm has become a private nature reserve, the number of animals has increased significantly during the past years and visitors commonly see monkeys, sloths and other mammals. One great highlight of a visit to Morgan's Rock is watching sea turtles lay their eggs in the sand or the little babies fight their way to the ocean.
